With all the salacious things that happen in this place, you're surprised that the novels are also salacious?
no subject
I'm not surprised they exist. I'm surprised you'd pick them to read of anything to read.
Do you also happen to enjoy when people use bad pick-up lines, Kirigiri-chan?

Anyway, what I wanted was to show you a special ability of mine. I'm not sure if you'll be able to see it, since it's hard to tell here. But, it's a nice way to get information.
And you know I'm always looking towards making things interesting.
no subject
A special ability that collects information for you? How does it work?
no subject
He's an ability called a Stand. And his name is Heaven's Door.
no subject
It bothers you that much to not know my secrets, is that it?

You wouldn't know if I had used him on you, though. Even other Stand Users don't know as long as I make some edits.
If you give me permission to read sometime, I will respect your boundaries for what I read.
no subject
— Wait. "Edits"?
You can edit these "books" you turn people into?
no subject
I can make edits, yes. I can give, or I can take. Like if you wanted to learn French, you would know fluent French in the blink of an eye.
It misses out on some of the interesting parts of an interview, like watching someone's face. But the efficiency of it is unbeatable.

There's no sense in making someone someone else. Except for maybe in rare, exceptional cases where the safety of a city is a consideration.
no subject
So you're just a voyeur, then. Reading other people's lives.
no subject
In a manner, yes. I do plenty on my own, as well. But I can't experience everything, so why not draw from other's lives? Do writers and creators not conduct interviews? Do they not do research?
Tell me how they're different.
[ He was going to ask her for something else and has since forgotten and is in too deep. ]
no subject
Hmm. Are people's "books" written in their own words?
no subject
Not exactly in their own words. It's just the honest truth about whomever I'm reading. Things like biographical details to their thoughts and opinions on subjects. And fully detailed memories. There's no room for mistakes.
Think of it like: If you tell a story, you may not point out that couple at a coffee shop that you passed by, but this will tell me if you saw them because it's still part of your experience.
[ she'll see the tell-tale sign that he's typing more ... ]
You still need people for the human reaction. As it were, what I can do doesn't eliminate all need for interaction, but it eliminates a lot of it.
no subject
Reading a person's book doesn't give them the opportunity to tailor the perspective they offer.
no subject
I find people like to leave out details I find interesting because they feel they're unimportant.

[ He fully expects feedback on his offer, so - ]

And coffee.
[Well, well, well.]
Yes, I often conduct interviews. Though I suppose some would call them interrogations.
no subject
[ She's answering so he'll be true to it and at least give her something she wants. ]
Interrogations. You do strike me as observant. Now - do you enjoy the part of the process that relies on the human?
[ it's easy to see when you watch people, too. ]
no subject
Enjoy isn't the right word. I find the way a story is told as valuable as the contents of a story itself.
