You're comparing his good attributes to your own bad ones. That's not an equivalent basis. If I compared your strengths against my weaknesses, I'd always come out looking deficient, too.

If that were true, then at some point, someone or something must have decided who deserves what, for everyone who will ever exist. Individual choice doesn't matter. What someone else decided you are is the thing that sets the standard, forever.

I'm like that. I wanted things I wasn't supposed to have. I put myself in places I shouldn't have been. I was selfish for doing it.

But if you knew my reasons for those things, I doubt that you would say it was a flaw of how I was born.

I really don't think it was your fault. Obviously I only know what you've told me, so I may not have all the relevant details. But your logic is flawed, and biased against yourself. You might be assigning yourself more blame than you really deserve.
